Terms and Conditions
Last updated: August 2026 — these terms are under legal review and may be refined. The German version prevails.
1. Service
Dictalex is a web application for law firms to record, transcribe, and manage dictations and meetings, including AI-assisted summaries, case management, search, and export. The provider is PAKD, based in Switzerland (pakd.ch).
2. Testing phase
Dictalex is currently in a closed testing phase; registration is by invitation only. During this phase the service is provided free of charge and without an availability commitment; features and conditions may change. We will give reasonable notice of material changes — in particular the introduction of paid plans.
3. Your obligations
You are responsible for the lawfulness of the content you process. In particular, meetings may only be recorded with the knowledge and consent of all participants (in Austria: § 120 of the Criminal Code); Dictalex supports this with a mandatory consent step but does not replace it. AI-generated content (cleaned transcripts, summaries) is a draft and must be reviewed by a lawyer before use.
4. Confidentiality and data protection
Firm data is processed under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) including an agreement within the meaning of § 40(3) RL-BA. Details are governed by the privacy policy and the security page.
5. Data export and termination
Your data is yours: full export (Markdown, Word, PDF, Obsidian vault) is available at any time. Upon termination, your firm and all its content are deleted completely, including cryptographic key destruction for audio.
6. Liability
During the free testing phase we are liable only for intent and gross negligence. Liability for slight negligence, lost profits, and consequential damages is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.
7. Final provisions
Swiss law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods; mandatory protective provisions at the user's seat remain unaffected. The place of jurisdiction is the seat of PAKD in Switzerland. Should individual provisions be invalid, the remainder stays effective. Contact: info@dictalex.com
